Bananas

Well, the solids have been a slow go. This was Savannah's first try at bananas and a photo of Carson...slightly different experience. I will say the bananas have definitely grown on her and she now loves them along with the Banana Puffs!

...Carson couldn't get enough of them!

6-Month Appointment

Who's idea was it to place the babies on crinkly paper?! I couldn't control this little girl...she was having a blast though so I contained her as best I could..

When the Doctor came in, she said that was the 6-Month test...she passed! :)

July Videos

July 10th...so focused on that toy!

July 19th bath...I will be happy when this 'bark' is a thing of the past but I sure do get a kick out of this little girl. I think I would be making the same noises if I was doing this... :)

Rolly-Polly

Savannah is officially on the move! Well...sort of :) She has learned how to roll over to her tummy. For a few days, she was a phantom roller. We'd put her down, turn our backs, and she'd be on her tummy! I finally just grabbed the camera and camped out next to her and this is the video...it was the first time I saw her do it so I was quite excited for her - and I found it quite hilarious too :)

I went ahead and took her off the mat to see what she'd do...

Savannah is now rarely found on her back...as soon as we lay her down she rolls right on over and has yet to figure out how to go the other way. She can do it by accident but as soon as she makes it back, she's just as quickly back on her tummy...

Blinkin Jumping Jacks & Sling Shot CJ

I was laughing so hard when I played this video back! Carson had SO much energy last night, I had him start doing some jumping jacks. When he first started doing them, I had Savannah on my lap and she was giggling up a storm. I put her in the chair so I could grab a camera...she wasn't giggling this time but she was enjoying herself. I just got a kick out of her expressions here...

After the jumping jacks - Carson worked on his muscles. This video is him attempting to pull 15 pounds before I stop him from sling shotting across the room :)

I wish I could tap into some of his energy!

Gone are the days...

...when Carson could hold Savannah in his chair. Our little girl has officially outgrown sharing the chair with Carson...not to mention she's a little wiggle-worm these days and Big Brother took a few shots to the face in the photos below :)

Strong and Happy

She is one of the happiest babies I know! Always smiling or giggling. Her teacher tells me that at least once a day, she wakes up giggling in her crib. Not many babies can say, "I crack myself up!" but I'm pretty sure if she could talk, this is what she'd say. :)
She loves looking at herself...and who wouldn't!

Baby Birdies

We had a Momma bird build a nest in one of our hanging pots. She hatched 3 healthy birdies and hung out with us for awhile. Dan continued to water the plant over the 2-3 weeks and it was quite hilarious to see Momma bird pop out and give us a piece of her mind. The last time Dan went out there he about got attacked by Momma bird and her 3 little babies...that was the last time we saw them and Dan couldn't be happier about it!

Dylan's Visit

Carson's class has a doggie that has been visiting one family each weekend. This last weekend was our turn to have Dylan stay with us. We had a busy weekend and Dylan got to experience a few new things...
Friday: Dylan's weekend started with a walk over to Westview. Dylan got to see some of the big kids practicing their football skills and he got some exercise by running up and down the bleachers...something we often have Carson do when he has a lot of energy :)

When Dylan got home, he thought it would be a good idea to keep Savannah company on her play mat. She really liked having him there...Dylan made her laugh a few times.

Saturday: We started off our Saturday morning hanging around the house and watching cartoons. Dylan really liked Mickey Mouse Clubhouse...Goofy's Bubble Bath was definitely his favorite!

After cartoons, Dylan helped Carson take apart our computer desk to take up to Goodwill. Dylan was really silly and was found hiding in one of the compartments with Carson.

Saturday afternoon we went to the Farmer's Market - Dylan said this was his first time there. He loved seeing all the people, music, and yummy food! We all enjoyed a wonderful pastry snack while we were there. It was a lot of fun!

Sunday: Dylan's last day with us was a rainy one! It rained ALL day long. Luckily, we were able to head up to Vancouver so that Dylan could meet the Budz Family and Grammie/Grandpa.

We had lots of fun playing during our visit and even got to meet a few other friends - Cupcake, Ruby's doggie and Uniqua, Amelia's bear.

Rice Cereal

Savannah has been chowin' down on her milk so we thought it was time to introduce the outstanding concoction of Rice Cereal!

"Okay, so what are you doing, Mom?"

"Oh, this is a new bib...I like it!"
"Alright, I'll give it a try"

"Seriously, you want me to eat that again?!"

"I am closed for business, no thank you"

"Ahhh, fingers"

As anticipated, it wasn't all it was cracked up to be but we'll keep practicing and will soon get a glimmer of bananas and avocados, hurray!

Family Trip to North Carolina

The Bern Bears are speckled throughout downtown. Aunt Linda has one of her own but we weren't able to get a photo of it...

Perhaps some of the most memorable times on the trip were spent in Aunt Linda's backyard, where Carson got to fish for the first time. Dan grew up fishing in Florida so he was right at home with teaching the next generation.

The fish weren't biting too much but Dan got the first catch with this little guy. Carson was quite impressed and excited to join in the celebratory photos before the little guy got tossed back in the lake.

Cousin Tom got the second catch...this guy was much bigger than the first so Carson had to do some exploring. He was a bit hesitant to touch it but eventually got his finger on it and was surprised at the slimminess of it.

A lot of our time was just spent hanging around Aunt Linda's fabulous home enjoying time with family and eating delicious food.
