Trip to Michigan-Pennsylvania

We just took our first real trip with Carson to visit Dan's family on the East coast. We flew from PDX to Detroit, MI. We were there for 3 days visiting Dan's Aunt Jeanne, Uncle Ken, Nanny and all his cousins. It was absolutely wonderful to see everyone as it's been 5 years since we last saw them at our wedding...I still can't believe it's been that long!

We then flew from Detroit to Baltimore and drove an hour and a half to Lancaster where we spent 4 days with Dan's Mom, Karen, and her mother Granny. It was a very relaxing time there but we were able to get out and enjoy a few activities.

Here are a few photos from our little adventure...

Carson did great on the airplane ride. No crying at all...maybe a little boredom at times but he pulled through. The seat-belts, trays, and iPod was were he spent most of his time with only about 20 minutes of sleep over the course of our 11 hours of flight-time (total).

Our first morning in Michigan...the iPod cartoons are still working!

Carson's first meeting with his Great Nanny.

He showed her how the iPod works and picked out a car for her...

Carson's buddy River. Carson had such a good time playing with River, we still hear about him..."Where is River?", "Why is he in Michigan?". River gave Carson a little bear named 'Stars'...it now sleeps with Carson every night :)

Onto Pennsylvania. On our first day we visited Amish country. We got some wonderful jams and peanut butter and got to go on a buggy ride.

On our second day we visited a Train Museum and got to ride on a real Coal train. It was a beautiful day and a very scenic trip through the Pennsylvania country-side.

On our way home, Carson figured out a new trick...he had everyone looking at him with admiration as he strolled on by...
